As part of their current Unit of Inquiry: How We Organize Ourselves, Grade 5s have been inquiring into how people develop rules and systems for governing themselves. To find out more about the history of Polish parliament, they took a trip to the Royal Castle of Warsaw to learn about how Sejm was structured and functioned during the 17th century. They even had their very own Marshal of the Sejm before engaging in a parliamentary-style debate to resolve the issues different regions faced at the time.
