Due to the entry into force of the act on the need to create “Child Protection Policy” by every institution in Poland that has contact with children, we present to you our internal policy of protecting children against harm. In our institution, we deeply believe that every child has the right to safety, care and protection against harm. As an education provider, we have both a moral and legal obligation to ensure that all interactions with children are safe and supportive. Development of the abovementioned policy demonstrates the School’s ongoing commitment to protecting students and ensuring the safety and well-being of every child in our school community. Our “Child Protection Policy” covers a broad spectrum of activities: prevention, detection and response to all forms of child abuse. We implement a range of strategies, including regular staff training, developing awareness among pupils, creating safe school spaces and effective procedures for reporting and responding to any concerns about children’s well-being. Our child protection policies and procedures are mandatory and must be followed by all staff, volunteers, parents and others associated with the School. Every person in our community has a responsibility to protect children and is responsible for acting within established guidelines. Child abuse, as we understand it at our School, includes any action or omission that negatively affects a child’s physical, emotional, mental or sexual health. We recognize that abuse can take many forms, including neglect, physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, etc. Our “Child Protection Policy” is closely integrated with policies and procedures that promote children’s rights. All our activities are based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which are respected and promoted in all aspects of school life. The “Policy” is based on values such as: respect, empathy, integrity and responsibility. We believe that every child deserves respect, care and the opportunity to grow in a safe environment. These values are central to our approach to education and underpin all our child protection work. The introduction of the “Policy” is another step towards further providing children with a safe, supportive and caring school environment. We are committed to continually improving our practices and maintaining high standards in the protection of children.
