The 2020 PYP Exhibition has been an exhibition with a difference. COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown meant that we needed to re-think our usual on stage approach whilst still maintaining the event’s significance and role as the culminating event of the PYP journey. After seeing the website I am sure you would agree that the Grade 6 students with the support of their teachers, mentors, parents and experts have delivered an exhibition that they can be truly proud of. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Grade 6 students for their hard work, effort and perseverance in the most trying of circumstances.
Thank you to Miss Ula who has been preparing the students from September. Her commitment has been a true inspiration to the students and her colleagues. Miss Katie and Mr Adam have been worthy mentors and I would like to thank them for again giving up their time as they have done in previous years to support our exhibition groups. Mr Adam has been particularly instrumental in preparing the final product. His expertise in video editing and his creative touch are highly valued by all of us. Thank you to Miss Karolina for working tirelessly on the website. Her artistic genius has meant that we have a website that is cool and funky whilst ensuring that all the students’ work is displayed and easily accessible. Thank you to Mr Wendell who has been continually motivating the students over the last few months to ensure work is completed and deadlines are met.
We had several experts supporting some of our groups and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for taking the time and sharing their knowledge and experiences with our students. We must not forget the parents of our Grade 6 students who have supported and encouraged them. Their role has been even more significant this year because of remote learning.
Finally I would like to acknowledge the CSW management board, Monika and Del Chandler, whose faith in our students and teaching team ensures that events like the exhibition are given the prestige that they deserve.
The 2019-2020 academic year has been a challenge for all of us but the exhibition is a true testament that despite the obstacles, CSW is capable of anything.
